Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse, DE
This 76 foot lighthouse marks the southern entrance to the National Harbor of Refuge.   The 1926 cast-iron building sits on top of a solid caisson foundation, enabling the structure to withstand severe wind and waves.   The lighthouse was given a fourth-order Fresnel lens, which was in use until 1973 when the light was automated.   Best view of this lighthouse is from the Lewes ferry heading to Cape May.
