Old Point Comfort Lighthouse, VA |
|
|
Old Point Comfort Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse on the Chesapeake Bay.
The 54-foot octagonal sandstone tower was built in 1802 to mark
the mouth of the James River and the entrance to Hampton Roads.
The biggest surprise about this lighthouse is that since 9/11, you may enter Fort Monroe as a visitor,
but you may no longer take pictures inside the Fort. These pictures were taken from Miss Hampton II,
the harbor cruise out of Hampton.
